MAYHEM, MARDUK, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, CATTLE DECAPITATION To Team Up For 'Blackenedfest'

Norwegian black metallers MAYHEM will celebrate their 25th anniversary by teaming up with some of the strongest extreme metal acts for a tour of North America in May and June. Dubbed the Blackenedfest, the trek will feature MAYHEM alongside MARDUK, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, CATTLE DECAPITATION and WITHERED.

Guitarist Rune "Blasphemer" Eriksen played his final Norwegian concert with MAYHEM on August 6, 2008 at the Øyafestivalen in Oslo.

MAYHEM was honored in the "Metal" category at the 36th annual Spellemann awards (the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy Awards) for their latest release, "Ordo Ad Chao". The largest and oldest Norwegian music awards show was held on February 2, 2008 at the Spektrum in Oslo, Norway and was broadcast live on the Norwegian channel TV2.

"Ordo Ad Chao" entered the Norwegian album chart at position No. 12, the band's highest position ever.
